I use about a half tsp. at first in her food & can increase it to a teaspoon as the dogs system gets used to it. She gets gassy at times. The papaya stops the gas. It will actually push out the gas right away until her body gets accustomed to it. It takes very little papaya powder to be effective. Always very important to soak dry food first (with hot water- about 3 minutes) because as K-9 Katie.com explains on her talk show, the dog doesn’t have enough internal water to compensate for the dry food & can get quite constipated! I also include veggies & hemp seeds in it.

I’ve been using this product for a few months along with its Leaf version which sadly seems no longer available. Anyway I’ve low platelets and I’ve heard that this can help raise them, which it indeed seems to have done, my platelets went from 30 up to 220 !!. Was it the Papaya? who can tell but I do know they had been down for months. I take it mixed with a half spoon of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) in a glass of luke warm water before breakfast. Make sure to mix well and rinse mouth afterwards with water to protect your teeth.

Papaya is one of the most nutrient dense foods available. I’ve purchased several papaya powders, and I like this one best. I love the fact that this is just papaya. No additives, preservatives, etc. It’s healthy.
I purchased this powder because I was having some minor hair shedding due to stress. I don’t think anyone who experiences hair shedding for any reason wants it to get worse. So, now I’m taking collagen, vitamins, using a scalp massager, a red/NIR light panel, and I’m being super careful about what I eat. (I definitely don’t want to get to the point where I consider Minoxadil. Too many adverse side effects.)

It’s a convenient way to use it in recipes & store. Living in the northern US, I’ve never had a fresh, ripe papaya. So I can’t say how it compares in flavor that way. I just know it’s not very sweet or strong, which is ok. It would be helpful to list on packaging how much one serving of the powder equals to whole fruit. Also, the zipper closure on the bag was stronger than the glue holding it to the bag, so it pulled off the side when I opened the bag. I had to fold the top down & use a clip to close it. Hopefully the humidity won’t get to it.
