What is Apigenin?
Apigenin is a flavone, a specific subclass of flavonoids known to promote various health and longevity benefits. Chamomile tea, tabbouleh (Lebanese-style parsley salad), and celery juice are just a few examples of popular foods and beverages that are rich in this phytochemical. Like other flavonoids and flavones, apigenin functions as an anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer agent. What makes this compound unique, however, is its ability to reduce the incidence of age-related disease by promoting cellular apoptosis.
Most of what is known about apigenin has been gathered from cell and animal-based studies. Although apigenin-rich plants and teas have played a vital role in human culture for centuries, clinical trials are needed to better understand the efficacy, potential side effects, and ideal dosage of apigenin supplements.
However, apigenin consumption is widespread. Chamomile– a potent source of apigenin– is officially acknowledged as a medicinal drug in at least 26 countries, including Germany, Belgium, France, and the United Kingdom.
Product Description :
100g Pure Celery,Apigenin,Versulin,Smallage
Apigenin is also called apigenin and apigenin. It’s a flavonoid. It is widely distributed in nature. It mainly exists in daphneceae, Verbenaceae and Selaginellaceae, and is widely distributed in temperate tropical vegetables and fruits, especially in celery.
A large number of studies at home and abroad have found that apigenin has many biological activities, such as anti-tumor, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular protection, antiviral, antibacterial and so on
Apigenin can inhibit carcinogenic activity of carcinogens; As an antiviral drug for the treatment of HIV and other viral infections; MAP kinase inhibitor; Treatment of various inflammation; antioxidant; Calming and calming; step-down. Compared with other flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol), it has the characteristics of low toxicity and no mutagenicity
How Does Apigenin Work?
Humans have enjoyed the medicinal value of plant compounds like apigenin for centuries. Modern research indicates these flavonoids have several mechanisms of action, exhibiting powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer effects. More specifically, apigenin research illustrates this compound’s unique therapeutic ability to promote apoptosis, prevent cancer, and reduce inflammation.
Treatment of Autoimmune Disease
Autoimmune diseases are characterized by the immune system attacking itself, typically as a result of being triggered by a foreign substance. It is estimated that more than 23 million Americans suffer with such conditions, which include things like rheumatoid arthritis and Celiac disease.
Modern medical research has increasingly looked toward polyphenols and flavonoids to help treat such disease, given the relatively low toxicity and tolerability of such compounds. In a systematic review of apigenin and four other popular flavonoids, researchers conclude such compounds exhibit “considerable potential” due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
This potential was put on display in 2014, when apigenin appeared to protect from the development of autoimmune myocarditis. Received apigenin treatments for just 21 days. Commenting on the study, researchers note apigenin significantly reduced cardiac hypertrophy and dysfunction, thereby alleviating the autoimmune response. Moreover, apigenin was found to calm the immune response by decreasing pro-inflammatory cytokines.
Reduced Risk of Cancer
A key characteristic of effective cancer treatments is the ability to selectively target and kill cancerous cells, without causing damage to healthy tissues. This is a difficult task, however. An estimated 65% of cancer patients lose their hair during chemotherapy, a stunning fact that demonstrates just how challenging it can be to selectively target cancerous cells with radiation therapy.
That’s why researchers are excited by the anti-cancer effects of phytochemicals like apigenin. Writing for the peer-reviewed journal Cell and Bioscience, researchers note that “apigenin shows significant cell cytotoxicity selectively against various types of cancer cells” while showing very little toxicity toward healthy ones. The keyword: Selectivity. Apigenin seems to naturally identify and shut-down cancerous cells while remaining minimally toxic toward surrounding tissues.
Interestingly, apigenin’s anti-inflammatory properties may help to explain its ability to function as an anti-cancer agent. Cancers often develop in areas plagued by irritation, which has led scientists to name chronic inflammation a “critical driver” of tumour progression. In this way, the anti-inflammatory properties of flavonoids like apigenin have the potential to prevent cancerous cell development and proliferation.
In one clinical trial, researchers studied the progression of colon cancer in 87 patients over the course of 3 to 4 years. Patients were divided into two groups. One took a daily flavonoid mixture consisting of 20mg apigenin and 20mg epigallocatechin-gallat (EGCG), an antioxidant catechin found in several varieties of tea. The other served as a control group, taking a placebo. Over 4 years, the group taking the flavonoid mixture experienced 0% cancer recurrence, while recurrence for the control group was an alarming 20%.
Prevention of Neurodegenerative Disease
Remarkably, certain flavonoids are known to promote cell development, proliferation, and network connectivity– often referred to as neural plasticity. There are likely many mechanisms of action, including the ability of flavonoids like apigenin to modulate the production of estrogen. Estrogen promotes neurogenesis (the creation of neurons) while also acting as a neuro-protectant. Increasingly, scientists are studying the efficacy of apigenin for promoting nervous system health and longevity.
Parkinson’s disease. To date, there is no cure for Parkinson’s. It is estimated this neurodegenerative disease affects more than 10 million people globally. Parkinson’s is the 14th leading cause of death in the United States, although the disease itself is not fatal. Increasingly, scientists are investigating flavonoids like apigenin to treat neurodegenerative conditions.
In a cell-based study, researchers in Brazil found apigenin to promote neuronal genesis and connectivity after binding to estrogen receptors in human stem cells. As a result, researchers believe apigenin may be able to promote neuron development, proliferation, and brain plasticity. Estrogens are also known to have neuro-protective effects. As such, researchers believe apigenin may also help to prevent the onset of neurodegenerative diseases.
Alzheimer’s disease. Dementia is the most common neurodegenerative disease, affecting a staggering 55 million people worldwide. Roughly 50-75% of patient cases are classified as Alzheimer’s disease, a specific kind of dementia characterized by loss of memory, speech, and decision making abilities. Like Parkinson’s, researchers hope to find unique flavonoids that can help to preserve nervous system function and delay the onset of such a devastating disease.
In a 2020 review of such research, scientists identify apigenin as a potential tool for delaying the onset of Alzheimer’s disease by acting as an antioxidant and cognition-enhancing compound. Scientists note apigenin appears to have “anti-amyloidogenic” properties, meaning it can prevent the formation of the amyloid plaque known to cause Alzheimer’s.
In a clinical review published one year prior, researchers came to a similar conclusion. After summarizing both animal and human trials, apigenin was identified as a potential therapeutic that may delay the onset of Alzheimer’s.
Reduced Feelings of Anxiety
Apigenin has been studied in both animal and human models. In both scenarios, the compound has been shown to decrease the symptoms of anxiety. However, it is important to note the experience of “anxiety” exists on a broad spectrum. On one end, symptoms are extremely mild and resemble that of excitement. On the other, symptoms are so extreme they cause shortness of breath, panic attacks, and even loss of consciousness. More research is needed to determine if apigenin can someday replace prescription medications for severe anxiety disorders.
In 2014, researchers demonstrated the anti-anxiety effects of apigenin in mice. The compound was extracted from Stachys tibetica Vatke, a tea native to the Himalayan mountains. This revered tea had been used by tribal healers for centuries to treat fever, cough, and even certain phobias. In the study, researchers found the apigenin extract to exhibit anti-anxiety effects, noting it could be an important molecule for future anxiety treatments.
Results have also been observed in human studies. In one double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, the compound was found to have a modest anti-anxiety effect on patients with mild to moderate Generalized Anxiety Disorder. For this study, participants received chamomile extract containing 1.2% apigenin.
Results were also seen in a long-term study of patients with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Over 38 weeks, participants received either 1500mg of chamomile extract or a placebo. Results indicate long term chamomile use to be safe and significantly reduce symptoms of moderate to severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
It is important to note this study did not specify the exact concentration of apigenin in the chamomile extract. However, apigenin is known to be the primary compound behind the calming effects of chamomile. As researchers note, additional studies are needed to further understand the therapeutic potential of this tea.
What are the possible side effects of apigenin?
There is a very low risk of toxicity from apigenin and even when the side effects appear, they are likely to be mild. Some of the possible side effects of taking apigenin include:
-
Sedation
-
Muscle relaxation
-
Upset stomach

For the last two years I have been consuming about 5g of dried parsley every single day. In that time, my parents have each consumed about the same.
That is because parsley contains a large quantity of apigenin – this nutrient.
According to some clinical reviews, 5g of dried parsley should contain anywhere from 84-650mg of apigenin.
Unfortunately, the research into this is still very early so an optimal dosage has not been found – in fact, there is almost no published data around dosages at all.
For my purposes, I am going to assume that I have been taking 250mg of apigenin through the parsley, and this is the dosage I have been using with this supplement. This gives me 100 servings at a cost of about 60p/serving.
That’s much more expensive than the parsley, but also a lot more convenient to take. I have gotten a bit too used to all of my food and drinks tasting like parsley!
It’s a pure white powder and comes with a scoop, although I’m only taking roughly a half scoop worth.
For a relatively “new” molecule with limited data but lots of future potential as a powerful CD38 inhibitor (and pro-NAD+ nutrient), this is one that I’m very excited to read more clinical trials about.
I like that this company does publish their CoA online so that you can be sure that what you’re getting is the exact molecule that you trust it is, and I like that they are also bringing out many other supplements for other nutrients that can contribute to healthy aging.
Make your apigenin go a little further: Combining apigenin with resveratrol, according to one clinical trial, was found to increase plasma apigenin levels by 2.39x compared to when just dosing apigenin by itself, so resveratrol does appear to act as a bioavailability enhancer. So you can either halve your dosage, or hope that you’re getting twice the benefit 🙂

This stuff is pricey, at the recommended 4 scoops, you only get 85 servings. I would take 2 scoops at 6.30pm in my avocado pudding as it’s apparently more effective when taken with fat. I found that if I took it any earlier than 6pm it would start to make me doze off. Here are the benefits I’ve personally experienced below.
– Improved sleep quality, waking up before my alarm, actually feeling rested.
– Weird lucid dreams, although it could be the msm I take.
– Waves of relaxation, reduced anxiety. I didn’t realise how much anxiety stifled my productivity.
– Bloating and a bit gassy the first three days of trying it. Stomach issues were temporary.
– Tingly skin. That feeling you get when you feel like somethings crawling on you.

It’s early days yet but I have been taking this mixed with some juice a couple of hours before bed. I suffer from anxiety and I have felt I do fall asleep better for taking it. It doesn’t really have a taste to it and it is easy to mix. I do think it is not expensive for the amount you get.

I don’t use chemical medications, everything my body needs comes from food or natural supplements.
Vitamins and minerals are of course good but apigenin is a whole different level, it is truly amazing. It isn’t new, in fact it is a very traditional, the therapeutic benefits of it have been used for hundreds of years with good results, but now modern testing and labs are available the reasons and science behind why it works are more apparent so is becoming more popular.
You could of course get this supplement from fruits and vegetables. Some rich sources of apigenin include celery, parsley, grapes, and cherries. Wines and chamomile tea are noteworthy apigenin sources as well, but you would need to consume a lot of those to get a decent amount, both time consuming and not to everyone’s taste. That is where this powder comes in, it contains everything you need to get the amazing benefits without the hassle of preparation and eating of lots of different foods.
I like the way it helps lessen how stressed I am, it helps me sleep better and the natural anti-inflammatory properties work very well. I have spinal stenosis and arthritis in my knees, and it helps a lot.
The most notable health benefit of apigenin lies in anti-tumour and antioxidant capabilities. By obstructing and inhibiting the advancement of cancer cells, apigenin can greatly reduce the likelihood of these cells becoming tumours. Apigenin is equally known for being an antioxidant, meaning that it can prevent radicals from damaging cells and lessen the chances of these cells becoming cancerous in the first place.
It is also good to help relieve menopause symptoms but do not take HRT at the same time and they don’t go well together, look into that more if you are thinking of coming off HRT and trying this as a more natural therapy.
I find it easy to use, it has only a hint of flavour, you don’t notice it once in a drink.
The quality is superb, and it is 3rd party certified so you know you are getting the real product. I cannot afford to use it long term, but if you can then I would say don’t hesitate, it is amazing.

Pure Apigenin Supplement Powder is said to help combat anxiety and improve hair growth among other things, but these are the reasons I take it. Comes with its own scoop so no need to measure out. I cannot comment on price as this is not available at the time of writing this review. I think it will be a good while before I can post an honest account of results, but here’s hoping and I will update if results are promising.

This is a very high quality supplement. It contains 100g of high potency 100% celery seed extract which contain high levels of apigenin. The manufacturer states that this is third party tested and contains 99.46% apigenin.
The recommended dosage is 0.5g per day, which is one scoop (provided). At the time of writing my review, the price wasn’t available for me to see, but apigenin is generally an expensive supplement. However, this is a great way of obtaining apigenin if you find it hard to consume apigenin- containing foods regularly in your diet.
To sum up, it’s a good product, suitable for vegans and those who prefer not to take their supplements in tablet form.

This is a great supplement, it has improved the quality of my sleep. It seems expensive by actually quite alot of product and it will last ages. well worth the cost.

Item arrived quickly. It came double sealed for freshness and had a slight taste of the extract base it comes from. It comes with a scoop, which took out the need to mess around with teaspoon measurements and scales.
As with all supplements or drugs, it takes some time to notice effects, so as I have just received today, I cannot comment on the effects. But if you’re looking for a powdered – pure version of this chemical, I recommend giving these guys a fair shot. Support home grown businesses, especially ones that batch test.

I was in two minds about this supplement. It seems horribly expensive and the dosage is self-decided. The powder comes with a tiny measuring spoon so you can take the amount you think is right, but how do you know what’s best for you? It’s a dear product to do trial and error.
If you opened capsules, you’d be surprised by how little they contain, so don’t be put off by the tiny spoon. The powder has no suggestion of how to take it so I sprinkle it on my breakfast oats. It has not taste at all.
The benefits are myriad but it’s early to make a balanced decision. I have slept better and felt brighter. There haven’t been any adverse reactions.
If you can afford it, it is probably an excellent supplement. It seems honestly produced. In these times I suspect it will be beyond my pocket.

There are numerous reasons I love this powder, the main ones are the fact it is not yet another capsule to swallow. It is also cool that you can measure your own dosage and once mixed with water, it is completely tasteless. I mean there is no taste at all.
I LOVE the fact this brand uses no artificial nasties, which is something that is vitally important to me when buying a supplement.
I have to admit, I have never heard of this supplement before so was intrigued to learn more about it. It turns out the price tag for such a minimal amount of powder may be totally worth it considering its benefits. There are way too many to mention so I suggest you google the benefits just to see what you are gaining here, but I can guarantee I have been sleeping soooo much better since taking this. I mean I take other supplements for sleep, but this one seems to have made the most difference. I almost can’t stay awake past bedtime lol.
Although this does seem an expensive supplement to take, I truly believe you get what you pay for, and I for one will seriously consider purchasing this again for the benefits it is bringing. A very solid 5/5 from me.

I’m blown away at how awesome this stuff is and how no one has reviewed it yet. I got it for my partner as I had no interest in it originally after trying it though I’m in love. It’s great for calm focus during the day and a deep, restful sleep at night. I’ve been waking up feeling refreshed and energized every morning since taking it. I believe it helps quicken recovery from my daily work outs too, and allowed for greater gains.I’ve tried many supplements over the last decade of my nootropic journey. This is one that I can’t live without now, which I can say for only a few of these substances. Its modulation of A7 nicotinic receptors and its testosterone boosting properties are quite apparent. I don’t generally like GABA A receptor agonists/enhancers, as they tend to make me spacey and somewhat depressed, but I do love this one. Goes great with my ADHD meds, too, and in general makes me less of a scattered mess. My partner, who is on the Autism spectrum, finds it helps prevent overstimulation and anxiousness when confronted with social situations. It’s the first thing since he quit his benzo prescription a decade ago that allows him to sleep through the night undisturbed. I believe apigenin is great for neurodivergent people and really deserves so much more attention.

I tried this with my smoothie and porridge but the taste is not my favourite. I can tolerate it but our child can’t. It would have been nice if our child will like the taste as we wanted to put some of this in his smoothie and porridge as well. This is best added to savoury food instead of porridge or smoothie as this has an earthy taste.

Apigenin is a fantastic supplement that I had never heard of before. After doing some research, I discovered that it has anxiety-reducing effects when taken in high doses, as well as being a very potent anticancer compound, protecting against a wide range of cancers with high selectivity for cancer cells as opposed to non-cancerous cells. Apigenin has also been shown to delay the decline in testosterone levels caused by ageing in men.
I’m looking forward to using it and possibly purchasing it if it works as advertised; I’ll update my review later.

My goodness, I don’t even know where to start with Apigenin, but it is just remarkable stuff.
Here’s just a few of the things it’s known to do:
~ boosts NAD+ levels (quite literally de-ages you)
~ stimulates hair growth
~ is anti-cancer
~ alleviates symptoms of depression and anxiety
~ is a sleep aid and fights insomnia
~ supports the cardiovascular system
~ supports brain function
~ is a powerful, powerful antioxidant
~ known to lower high blood pressure
… and that’s not even a full list.
I’m aware that this powder is incredibly expensive and, especially at the moment, isn’t within everyone’s budget so, for the record, chamomile and thyme are also very high in Apigenin.
But if you have the pennies to afford this, I can’t recommend it enough. It comes with a tiny scoop so you can meter out your dose, and I’m using half a tiny scoop every day in a cup of sugar-free ice-cream, and it’s an absolute wonder. Am genuinely seeing benefits that started on day 3 or 4 and am now seriously discussing with hubby whether we can justify the cost of this going forward. I think we’ll probably find a way, really, because it’s genuinely that brilliant.
It’s amazing stuff, and am so chuffed that this lovely, small business 911healty exists!

I’m always a little nervous when trying something new that I consume but thought I’d give this a go because I spotted the claim that it promotes prostate health.
My father past away with prostate cancer and as I am now approaching the same age when he received his diagnosis I obviously have this in the back of my mind.
Although this is too soon to confirm the claim to be true I am working my way through the first pouch with a low dosage to start with.
It is unnoticeable when taken as a supplement.
It’s pretty expensive to repeat purchase but a small price to pay if it helps?

I twisted my knee a month ago and hobble around with a swollen leg. By tensing up, I have induced back ache. This has made me depressed and has affected my sleep patterns. Then along comes Apigenin powder. Hey presto! The layers of problems have been fixed within two days. It’s a powerful antioxidant, which boost the immune system, reduces inflammation, acts as an anti-aging agent, supports prostate health, optimises metabolism, makes for a nice glowing skin and helps with sleep. It’s also anti-cancer, promotes hair growth for thinning scalps, is good for the heart and eliminates brain fog – among other things.
It’s expensive, but will out-perform any other supplements you may choose. The powder format is also good and quickly absorbed – I sprinkle it on my cereal in the mornings. And it’s made by a 911healty company. Well worth it. Recommended.

911healty apigenin is a high quality supplement, classified as a flavonoid, it’s found in many natural sources such as fruits and veggies. It has anti inflammatory properties, along with purported cognitive enhancing and relaxation inducing effects which I noticed and enjoyed. It can decrease the negative reactions in the human body to sugar and it also possesses potent antioxidant properties. I highly recommend this product to others and urge caution when starting this product due to potential interactions, and I use lower than recommended doses out of caution, although I’ve yet to notice any issues and therefore I would reccomend this supplement to others.

I have been in the health food business for many years and in all that time I have never been asked nor supplied its supplement. I was aware of it, but nobody has ever asked for it.
It is used in three ways. It can be used for Anxiety related issues. It can be used to help sleep or in very high doses it can increase testosterone. Firstly you must be very careful with the actual dosage. For most people, it will go off body mass. My recommendation would be not to use more than 3mg per day. A range of 0.7mg to 3mg should be sufficient. I do not recommend high doses to help testosterone. There are far better products out there for this purpose.
Does it work? I get anxiety, and stress and my mind races at night. I have tried different doses and I have found that 2.5 mg is a perfect dose for me and at this level, it helps calm down. It does not put me to sleep, but it calms my mind. It is very good for that purpose.
I prefer to use this product for anxiety and it does help. You need to find the right dose and once you do it works. Recommended.

I’ve been using this over the past few days and haven’t noticed any of the effects so far, but time will tell.
Intake of the supplement is easy. I’ve mixed it in with water and could hardly notice the taste.
It comes with a measuring scoop so you know the exact intake.

I was quite sceptical about this supplement as I had not really heard much about it before. Investigation on the internet showed that there has been, and continues to be, quite a lot of research into this particular flavonoid. The claimed and suggested benefits of Apigenin are wide ranging and some have indeed been backed by proven scientific evidence.
For the last two weeks I have been taking a daily dose of 500g (just two scoops) which I sprinkle on my morning breakfast cereal. I can not detect any discernible taste and have not experienced any undesirable side effects.
I am 74 years of age with a number of age-related conditions including arthritis, diverticulosis, pre-diabetes and facial rosacea. I truly believe that Apigenin is really starting to help alleviate many of my symptoms. I have had much less discomfort in my knees, back and hips. I have not had any tummy or digestive issues since day one. My blood glucose levels have dropped slightly and the rosacea redness on my face has greatly faded and my skin looks very healthy. I am also sleeping better, less stressed, have more energy and generally much brighter mood-wise. Co-incidence? Maybe, but I guess I’ll know for sure when this supply runs out as it is very unlikely that I can afford to pay £60 a month which, if this really is doing me so much good, is a great shame that it is so expensive. Maybe the price will come down or perhaps I can find a more reasonably priced competitor. The excessive cost has reduced my review from five to four stars.

There are many possible benefits to taking this but it is too early to tell if it is helping my husband and the cost may not be too much for many people to use long term.
It’s very easy to take, mix it into any drink and it can cloud it but not significantly change the taste. My husband is really picky when it comes to flavors and textures and he happily drinks this every day!

I researched the benefits of apigenin for a while last year so needed no convincing on that front but as I’ve found elsewhere it is not the cheapest supplement – this isn’t actually too bad compared to many I’ve looked at as it will last nearly two months but for is still too pricey to take every day. If in your budget would absolutely recommend but I’m making this one last by only taking it three times a week as would be out of my price range to consume daily.

This comes in a small package that is a pouch that can be easily resealed. You get a scoop with it and if you take a couple of scoops daily then this will last you 85 days. I’d start off with quite a lose dosage of perhaps 1 daily to begin with just to make sure it agrees with you before building up to a stronger dosage. The scoop makes it easy to measure you serving. There’s no price on the product page at the time of writing so it’s difficult to judge value for money but the ingredients seem very good quality and I appreciate the fact that this is a clearly marked vegan product.
