Scientists have known about fisetin for almost 200 years, since it was first isolated from the Venetian sumach plant in 1833.
But fisetin didn’t come into the anti-aging and longevity scene until 2018 when it was recognized for use as a senolytic or senotherapeutic—a substance that destroys senescent cells.

What is Fisetin?
Fisetin is a flavonoid—a broad category of compounds that give plants their vibrant hues and support health with potent antioxidant activity.
In this case, fisetin contributes to the yellowish tint behind several fruits and vegetables, including strawberries, onions, apples, and grapes.
Like all flavonoids, fisetin scavenges for free radicals and fights oxidative stress—the buildup of inflammatory and reactive compounds that damage cells and DNA.
Fisetin As a Senolytic
One of
Cellular senescence is a state of irreversible growth arrest—essentially, cells stop dividing and lose their function.
However, while senescent cells lose function, they don’t completely die and leave the body—they enter a zombie-like state that damages neighboring cells and tissues.
This inflammatory damage that comes with senescent cells is thought to contribute to tissue and organ dysfunction and various age-related diseases.
Therefore, researchers have started testing and implementing the use of senolytics as a way of entirely destroying and removing senescent cells from the body.
In one landmark 2018 study, researchers tested a panel of ten potential senolytics , finding that fisetin was the most effective, clearing senescent cells and extending the lifespan by over 10%.

Fisetin Supports Cognition
Fisetin is linked to better brain function by reducing neuroinflammation, fighting oxidative stress in the brain, and clearing senescent cells.
In a study published in Molecular Neurobiology, with Alzheimer’s disease who received fisetin supplements had markedly improved memory, with reductions in neuroinflammation and suppressed degeneration in the hippocampus—the brain region most associated with memory and learning.
Other research has found that fisetin supports the aging brain by inducing autophagy—our body’s internal recycling program that removes old, damaged, or toxic cells and cell parts to make way for healthy ones.
Fisetin Reverse Aging?
With its combination of senescent cell-clearing, autophagy-boosting, and cancer-fighting abilities, fisetin is a top contender for slowing the aging process.
Experiments clearly show that fisetin can extend lifespan—demonstrating a lifespan extension of 55% and 23% in yeast and flies, respectively.
Fisetin also lengthens healthspan—the number of years lived without developing disease—by reducing the risk of several common age-related diseases.
Neuroprotective
When older age-related decline in cognition were given fisetin supplement, there was a significant improvement in their cognitive skills and memory. In another study, models were exposed to neurotoxic substances and then given a fisetin supplement. The test subjects were found to have not experienced any memory loss due to the supplement. However.
Fisetin is also neuroprotective in the sense that it prevents the development of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s by reducing the accumulation of harmful proteins in the brain. Similarly, ALS showed an improvement in their balance and muscle coordination after being given fisetin powder. They also experienced a prolonged life span than what was expected.
What Are the Side Effects of Fisetin?
However, studies have not found any evidence of fisetin toxicity—even at very high doses.
There has been one clinical trial from the Mayo Clinic looking at fisetin’s effects on humans, which found that people with colorectal cancer who took 100mg of fisetin for seven weeks had no significantly different side effects than the control group.
Due to the current lack of available safety data, pregnant women and children should avoid fisetin supplements.
Fisetin may also increase the effects of blood-thinning drugs or medications that lower blood sugar, so check with your doctor before starting fisetin.

Primarily, I’m using your product as a readily available senolytic but I don’t have any means to quantify my fisetin experience with respect to whether it’s permitting senescent cells to die a normal death or not, if at all. That being said, I can anecdotally say that I’ve had zero problems tolerating Fisetin. Subjectively, I’ve also experienced a gradual increase in mental clarity and overall sense of well-being with no apparent side effects. That’s enough for me. Something to note I got a knee injury working in a factory with sharp pain every time I bend or kneel I was told stuff like that happens and I would likely have it for life. I had it for about a year and I started taking fisetin. After a few months it completely disappeared no more knee injury. As far as I’m concerned this stuff really works no joke. I did a little research online and there are scientific studies and pdfs that say it can lessen arthritis too. Give it a try it’s definitely worth the $70 I paid because my knee injury is kaput and just with one bottle at 2 pills spaced out in a week. Can’t hurt to try if you have arthritis or some other joint injury

At 100g, I take 1 1/2 gms fisetin with 1 gm quercetin in 1/2 tsp of unfiltered organic olive oil, first thing in the morning for 3 days, then skip it for 5 days, then back on it.
I’m taking it to reduce pain & inflammation from being hit by a car. It works better than toradol, oral NSAIDS, tylenol, opiates, gabapentin, & CBD, without any side effects.
It’s hard to afford, but it’s very effective.
The Mayo Clinic is doing clinical trials to see if it’s a senolytic for humans. I expect so, but even if it’s just the best pain & inflammation treatment I have ever found, I’m taking it.

I have not used fisetin before so its hard to compare this product. To fairly review it, I would say I definitely feel mental clarity & focus very soon after taking this stuff.
